Social Media in Libraries

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Finding and communicating with your library community using social media and technologies may seem difficult, but our expert panel of library workers from both public and academic libraries in Nevada will show you how it’s done! They’ll discuss how they’ve succeeded (and failed!) at using social media and other techniques to share their collections and communicate with and build their local communities (and beyond)!
Learning outcomes
Participants will:
  1. Learn how other libraries are using social media and mailing lists to promote events/services and develop community participation
  2. Recognize the dos and don’ts of social media presences
  3. Understand the importance of knowing what social media accounts and lists their library/organization runs, who posts to them, and who has access to them
  4. Identify new ways in which they can communicate with their communities
  5. Share their experiences and thoughts on developing library communities
  6. Learn about how they can become involved with the (new) NLA Committee for Social Media
