Marina Georgieva holds a Master’s Degree in Library Science with Information Technology concentration from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She's been working at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas since 2015 in different capacities. Currently, her position is Visiting Digital Collections Librarian. Her passion is large-scale digitization with cutting edge technologies - necessary tools for preserving the past and making it accessible for the future generations. She's also focused on enhancing the user experience to facilitate users in retrieving digital objects. She specializes in digitizing and preserving historical materials: building well-structured digital libraries and organizing the digital assets in user-friendly searchable and browsable websites. Marina is also involved in metadata and authority work as well as digitization projects. Her research interests include project management in large-scale digitization and approaches for achieving higher digitization efficiency such as staffing and training, development of workflow, procedures and guidelines.
